Buying Monero with SEPA: what to check first

How to compare EUR offers, read payment terms and understand custody before a SEPA-funded Monero trade.

Start with a matching offer

On Moneso, choose Buy XMR, EUR and SEPA Transfer. Check the current offer list: a payment method in the filter does not guarantee an available trader. Read the minimum and maximum amounts and the payment window before starting.

Compare the full cost

A trader’s margin changes the offer price relative to the reference market rate. Separately, Moneso deducts a 1% platform fee and the actual Monero network fee from the buyer’s XMR allocation. Compare the amount you expect to receive, not just the headline rate.

Follow the deposit and payment steps

Moneso is custodial: a platform-controlled wallet holds the trade deposit. Wait for the trade to show the required funding confirmation before following its payment instructions. Keep agreements and evidence in the trade chat.

Allow enough time for payment

Use the payment method agreed in the offer. Do not assume every transfer is instant. If the payment window is unsuitable, choose a different offer before starting. Never send a second payment simply because someone claims the first is missing.

Understand the limits

A bank transfer is not anonymous to the bank or necessarily to the counterparty. Dispute review cannot eliminate fraud or reversal risk. Availability and requirements depend on your location and payment provider. Moneso does not claim an independent security audit.

An active listing does not mean the seller is online. Check availability, current price, limits and terms before starting.
